The GIGABYTE AORUS GP-ASM2NE6200TTTD is a 2TB M.2 2280 internal SSD built for consumers who want fast PCIe 4.0 x4 storage. It uses a Phison PS5016-E16 controller manufactured on a 28nm process with eight NAND channels and 32 CE targets. Toshiba BiCS4 96-layer 3D TLC flash and a 2GB DDR4 cache deliver sequential reads up to 5000 MBps and writes up to 4400 MBps.
The drive requires an M.2 2280 slot wired for PCIe 4.0 x4 and NVMe 1.3. A full-coverage copper heat spreader covers both sides of the PCB to dissipate heat from the controller and NAND. This integrated cooling frees the builder from adding a separate heatsink or relying on motherboard shields that may not contact both sides.
The 3600TB TBW rating and 1.77 million hour MTBF suit heavy write workloads such as game installs, content creation caches and large dataset handling. Wear Leveling, Over-Provision technologies and LDPC RAID ECC protect data integrity. Systems limited to PCIe 3.0 or lacking an M.2 2280 slot should consider a different interface or form factor.
