The TeraStation 5420 ships with four 12 TB NAS-grade drives installed and RAID pre-configured so the array is operational immediately. It targets small businesses and departments that need a high-capacity file server without the delay of drive installation and RAID setup.

Integrated cloud and snapshot features

Built-in support for Amazon S3, Dropbox, Microsoft Azure and OneDrive lets the NAS replicate data to public cloud targets without third-party software. Snapshot technology provides near-instantaneous point-in-time recovery, while AES-256 encryption and two-factor authentication secure stored files.

10GbE single-port ceiling

The single native 10GbE port caps peak network throughput at ten gigabits per second; two additional 1GbE ports handle management or secondary traffic. Four USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports allow direct-attached expansion, but the SATA drive bays limit internal growth to the four installed drives.
