The Dell PowerEdge R540 is a 2U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon Silver 4114 processors. Each CPU provides ten cores at 2.2 GHz with a 3.0 GHz turbo frequency. The system ships with 256 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight slots. It targets organisations running virtualisation, database hosting or file and application services.

Memory Headroom and Storage Flexibility

Installed memory uses eight of the sixteen available DIMM slots, leaving capacity to reach the 1 TB maximum when workloads grow. The PERC H740P controller with 8 GB cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across the eight 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drive bays. No drives are included, so capacity and performance scale with the media you choose.

Remote Management and Redundant Power Included

The iDRAC9 Enterprise licence enables full out-of-band monitoring, automation and remote administration without extra cost.
