Tower chassis with sixteen bays

The Dell PowerEdge T630 arrives in a tower form factor that holds up to sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays. Two Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors running at 2.2 GHz deliver forty-four cores and 55 MB of cache each. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed, and the PERC H730 SAS RAID controller manages storage. The system ships without drives, so capacity is chosen by the buyer.

Tool-less access and controller setup

Side panels remove without tools, exposing drive cages, memory slots and PCIe risers for straightforward upgrades. The PERC H730 requires configuration through its BIOS utility or the iDRAC8 Enterprise interface before arrays become visible to the operating system. Memory must be added in matched pairs per processor to maintain quad-channel performance. Rail kits are optional and not included by default.

Dual 1100 W supplies under load

Redundant 1100 W power supplies share the load, keeping each unit in its high-efficiency range during sustained compute tasks. The integrated iDRAC8 Enterprise license provides continuous thermal monitoring and power telemetry without a dedicated display. Dual 1 GbE ports on the 332T adapter handle management and data traffic simultaneously. Fan speeds scale with inlet temperature to maintain stability during extended runs.
