5V 3-pin RGB splitter kit
This two-pack provides two 1 ft female-to-female cables that turn a single 5 V 3-pin motherboard header into three addressable RGB connections. A male-to-male gender changer pin is included with each cable for added flexibility. Builders synchronising multiple 5 V LED strips or fans from one header will find this kit useful. It is not for systems that only have 12 V 4-pin RGB headers.
5 V 3-pin AURA compatibility
The splitter works exclusively with 5 V 3-pin AURA RGB headers and does not work with 12 V 4-pin RGB systems. Each motherboard header typically supplies at least 5 V and 3 A, giving up to 15 W of power for attached devices. The cable itself adds no extra power capacity. Connecting too many devices will overload the header and cause dimming.
Daisy-chain length and device limits
The supplier suggests keeping the total daisy-chained lighting run under 3.3 ft to maintain signal integrity. If connected RGB devices appear dimmed, the header is overloaded and some devices should be removed. Arrow marks on each plug must align with the 5 V pin on both the motherboard and the peripheral for correct operation.
