Eight-port NVMe switch card

The eshinreal add-on card uses a Broadcom PLX8748 switch to turn one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot into eight SFF-8643 ports for U.2 NVMe SSDs. It supports NVMe 1.3 and 1.4 drives with up to 15.76 GB/s total host bandwidth.

Check your platform before ordering

You need a free full-height PCIe 3.0 x16 slot and a CPU or chipset that can expose sixteen lanes to it. Each drive requires a Mini-SAS HD to U.2 breakout cable, which is not included. A low-profile bracket is supplied for compact chassis.

Thermals and power in normal use

The PLX8748 switch distributes lanes without adding protocol overhead, so each SSD can sustain around 3.5 GB/s. The card itself draws only switch-chip power; total system draw depends on the eight NVMe drives installed. Activity and fault LEDs give instant visual status per port.
