Replaces Lower-Capacity or Non-ECC Modules

The jump is worth it when a workload exceeds the capacity of smaller registered DIMMs or when error correction becomes mandatory for data integrity. Systems limited to unbuffered memory cannot accept this module. Boards that cap registered DIMM speed below 3200 will not realise the rated frequency.
