Four-drive NVMe expansion card
The RIITOP adapter installs in a PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 x16 slot and presents four M-key NVMe slots. It accepts 80x22mm, 60x22mm, 42x22mm and 30x22mm drives. The host motherboard must support PCIe x16 bifurcation set to x4x4x4x4 and the CPU must provide enough lanes. SATA-based B+M key SSDs are not supported.
Sustained-load behaviour
Each drive can run at the full 32Gbps link speed when the platform meets the bifurcation and lane requirements. Throughput scales with the number of active SSDs and the PCIe generation of the slot. Workloads that saturate multiple drives simultaneously will be limited by the shared x16 uplink and the CPU lane budget.
Thermals, noise and power
The card is a passive PCB with no onboard cooling or fans, so it adds no acoustic noise. Drive temperatures depend entirely on case airflow and any heatsinks fitted to the individual SSDs. Power draw is limited to the slot supply and the combined consumption of the installed NVMe devices.
