The Synology RS2423+ is a 12-bay rackmount network-attached storage server that ships fully assembled with twelve 8 TB Synology Plus Series drives for 96 TB of raw capacity. It includes 16 GB of installed memory and an M2D20 adapter populated with two 400 GB cache modules totalling 800 GB. The AMD Ryzen processor drives file management, sharing and backup workloads for small and medium businesses.

Sustained throughput of 3,500 MB/s read

Under continuous load the system delivers up to 3,500 MB/s sequential read and 1,700 MB/s sequential write throughput. Random performance reaches 155 K read IOPS and 79 K write IOPS. The 800 GB cache layer absorbs burst I/O so that heavy multi-user access remains consistent over long periods.

Two 1GbE ports plus one 10GbE port for network

Network I/O is handled by two RJ-45 1GbE ports with link aggregation and failover support and a single RJ-45 10GbE port. The 10GbE link can saturate at its line rate before the storage subsystem becomes the bottleneck. Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports provide direct-attached expansion for external drives or backup targets.
