M.2 SATA to USB 3.0 enclosure

The Vantec NexStar SX enclosure converts a single M.2 SATA SSD into an external USB 3.0 drive. It accepts B-key or B+M-key modules in 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. The aluminium case provides passive cooling and the unit draws power directly from the host USB port. A Micro-B to Type-A cable and mounting hardware are included.

For SATA M.2 drives only

This enclosure suits users who want to repurpose an existing M.2 SATA SSD for portable storage or data recovery. It supports UASP for improved throughput on compatible systems. Builders needing to connect M-key PCIe modules or drives longer than 80 mm cannot use this product. The single-bay design also limits it to one drive at a time.

B-key SATA interface decides compatibility

The internal connector is M.2 NGFF B-key, which carries SATA signals only. Drives that require an M-key PCIe connection will not function in this enclosure. Verify that the SSD is a SATA device with a B-key or B+M-key notch before purchase.
