B85 chipset ATX board
The GIGABYTE B85-HD3 uses the Intel B85 chipset on an ATX form factor measuring 30.5 by 22.5 centimetres. It accepts LGA 1150 processors including Core i7, i5, i3, Pentium and Celeron models. Four DDR3 DIMM slots support up to 32GB of system memory.
Sustained load behaviour
A single PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot runs at full x16 electrical speed for discrete graphics. Six SATA ports provide four SATA III and two SATA II connections for storage arrays. The Realtek GbE LAN controller handles 10, 100 and 1000 Mbit wired networking without additional hardware.
Thermals noise and power
The Realtek ALC892 audio codec delivers 7.1 channel high-definition sound with S/PDIF input and output. USB connectivity includes two rear USB 3.0 ports plus two internal headers and four rear USB 2.0 ports with four internal headers. The package supplies the board, one SATA cable and an I/O shield.
