System-Specific 16 GB ECC RDIMM Kit

This 16 GB kit contains two 8 GB DDR4 3200 registered DIMMs built for the Thinkmate VSX-R5-540W3 workstation. DDR4 3200 Registered Interface Limits

The DDR4 3200 standard tops out at 25 600 MB/s per module when the memory controller supports the full data rate. Registered DIMMs add a clock cycle of buffering, so the platform chipset and BIOS must be qualified for RDIMM use; unbuffered slots will not accept these modules. Mixed populations with different ranks or voltages can reduce the achievable speed below the rated 3200 MT/s.

288-Pin RDIMM Form Factor Decides Fit

Only systems with 288-pin DDR4 RDIMM slots that explicitly support ECC registered memory can use this kit. Desktop or consumer boards that take only unbuffered UDIMMs are physically incompatible despite sharing the same pin count. Verify the workstation documentation lists RDIMM support before ordering.
