Portable M.2 NVMe and SATA enclosure

The Orico AXM2 accepts M.2 drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths using either NVMe or SATA protocols. A tool-free design allows quick installation without screws. An aluminium alloy shell with multi-stacked heat dissipation helps manage drive temperature during operation. A silicone protective case and lanyard are included for transport.

10 Gbps USB link with UASP

The enclosure connects via a 10 Gbps USB interface and supports UASP for lower latency. Throughput is capped by the host port, so a 5 Gbps port will limit transfers to roughly half the rated speed. The drive itself also sets a ceiling; slower SSDs will not saturate the link. SATA protocol drives are restricted to their native 6 Gbps maximum.

No SSD included — bring your own drive

The package contains only the enclosure, silicone case, lanyard and cable; an M.2 SSD must be supplied separately. New drives require formatting before first use. SATA variants do not ship with thermal pads. Mobile device use requires host OTG support, which is not universal.
