Server-grade ECC LRDIMM kit

This OWC kit delivers 1TB of DDR4 3200 memory across eight 128GB LRDIMM modules. It targets administrators upgrading Dell PowerEdge R6525, R750xa or R7525 servers that require registered ECC memory. The load-reduced design reduces electrical load on the memory controller, allowing higher densities per channel. Desktop workstations and consumer motherboards cannot use these modules.

Capacity headroom at 3200 MT/s

The eight-module configuration fills all slots on supported dual-socket platforms, providing maximum ranked capacity for virtualisation, in-memory databases or large container fleets. CL22 latency at 3200 MT/s suits throughput-oriented workloads rather than latency-sensitive tasks. Systems limited to 2133, 2400, 2666 or 2933 MT/s will down-clock automatically, reducing peak bandwidth proportionally.

Integration requirements and trade-offs

Each 288-pin module operates at 1.2V and requires a server board qualified for 4Rx4 LRDIMMs; mixing with unbuffered or standard registered DIMMs is not supported. No heat spreaders are fitted, so adequate chassis airflow must already exist. The kit frees procurement from sourcing matched single modules but consumes every available DIMM slot on the target platforms.
