Dual-socket Xeon 2U server

The Supermicro SYS-6028U-TR4T+ is a 2U rackmount system built around two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.2 GHz with 12 cores and a 2.9 GHz turbo frequency. The unit ships with 32 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory installed across four modules. It targets virtualization hosts, database nodes and compute clusters that need dense processing in a standard rack footprint.

Check power, rails and drive stock

Verify that your rack can supply two 1000 W Titanium-efficiency hot-swap power supplies on the available circuits. The front bezel and rack-mount rails are not included, so source compatible rails for the CSE-829UAC-R1K02-T chassis before installation. Twelve 3.5-inch hot-plug trays are present but no hard drives are fitted; plan your SAS or SATA drive purchase separately. The LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across its eight ports.

Expand memory and networking as needed

Twenty-four DIMM slots allow growth up to 1.5 TB of DDR4 ECC registered memory for larger workloads. Quad 10GBase-T RJ45 ports from the Intel X540 controller provide high-speed LAN connectivity without extra cards. A dedicated RJ45 IPMI 2.0 port enables remote KVM-over-LAN and virtual media management. The Matrox G200 graphics core with 8 MB video memory handles basic console output, leaving PCIe slots free for additional storage or accelerator cards.
