This kit supplies a closed-loop GT2 timing belt and a matching 20-tooth aluminium pulley for 3D printers such as Anet, RepRap, Prusa and MendelMax models. The 5 mm bore fits standard stepper motor shafts used in many desktop machines. It also serves other linear-motion equipment including CNC routers, laser engravers and electric skateboards.

Closed-loop GT2 belt constraints

The belt forms a continuous 5000 mm loop with a 2 mm tooth pitch and 6 mm width, so it cannot be cut to length or joined in the field. Its 1.5 mm thickness and glass-fibre reinforced rubber construction limit the minimum pulley diameter to roughly the supplied 16 mm pulley. Tension must be set by moving the motor mount because the closed loop has no adjustment mechanism.

5 metre belt capacity and limits

The 5000 mm circumference suits printers with a total belt path close to that length, such as typical Cartesian X or Y axes. Longer CoreXY or delta belts, or machines needing a spare length for future reconfiguration, will exceed the fixed loop. The single 20-tooth pulley drives one axis; a second axis requires an additional pulley not included in the package.
