Portable SSD enclosure for SATA drives

The Orico M.2 SATA enclosure converts a single B-key or B+M-key SATA SSD into a USB-C external drive. It accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors and ships with a detachable 2-in-1 cable offering both USB-C and USB-A plugs. The all-aluminium body acts as a heatsink for the installed drive.

SATA-only protocol limits throughput

This adapter works exclusively with M.2 SATA SSDs; it does not support NVMe or PCIe drives. The internal SATA interface tops out at 6 Gbps, so sequential reads and writes cannot exceed 550 MB/s regardless of the 10 Gbps USB cable. Buyers with NVMe modules must choose a different enclosure.

Aluminium chassis sustains write speeds

The CNC-cut aluminium shell wraps the SSD on all sides, conducting heat away during long transfers. Without active cooling, thermal throttling on sustained writes is reduced compared with plastic enclosures. The drive remains at a stable temperature during extended backup or cloning sessions.
