The Ubiquiti USW-Enterprise-24-PoE is a rackmount managed switch with 24 RJ45 ports and two 10G SFP+ uplinks. Twelve ports run at 2.5 GbE and twelve at GbE, all supporting PoE+ with a 400W total power budget. It provides full Layer 3 routing, VLANs and ACLs for network segmentation.

Suited for PoE-Heavy Deployments.

This switch fits installations powering many wireless access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones from a single rack unit. The 400W budget covers dense PoE+ loads. Buyers who need only fibre uplinks or higher port counts without PoE should look at a different form factor.

The switch is a rackmount unit that runs on a universal 100—240V AC supply drawing up to 8.5A, and it also accepts a 52V DC USP-RPS backup input at 7.7A or 11.5V DC at 8.7A.

How is the switch first connected for management, and what step is often missed?

Management is Ethernet in-band, so you must plug a cable into one of the 24 RJ45 ports and adopt the device in the UniFi controller before VLANs or routing will pass traffic.
