No separate controller is required.

Hydro bearing and hidden screws

A hydrodynamic bearing is rated for up to 50000 hours of operation while keeping noise low. The fan spins at 1300 rpm with a tolerance of ten percent and delivers a maximum airflow of 48.1 CFM.
