This 16GB registered DIMM delivers DDR5 4800 speed with error-correcting code for data integrity. It runs at 1.10V with a CAS latency of 40 and uses a 1Rx8 rank layout. The module is a direct replacement for Hynix HMCG78A, HMCG78AEBRA115N and HMCG78AEBRA168N parts.
The 288-pin RDIMM form factor requires a server or workstation motherboard that supports registered DDR5 memory. Error correction is handled on the module, freeing the CPU from parity overhead. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow across the PCB must be provided by the system chassis.
Swapping out the listed Hynix modules restores original capacity and speed without firmware changes. The upgrade is worthwhile when ECC logs show correctable errors or when workloads exceed the current memory ceiling. Systems needing unbuffered DIMMs or a different voltage cannot use this module.
