SHA-256 ASIC miner with dual PSU

The AFRNDK Antminer S9 delivers a hash rate of 14.5 TH/s on the SHA-256 algorithm using 189 ASIC chips. Two included power supplies let the unit run on 110 V as well as 220 V supplies. Cooling is handled by two 12038 fans rated at 6000 rpm and 4300 rpm. The miner connects to the network through an Ethernet port.

Capacity and power headroom

Rated power draw is 1323 W ±10 % with an efficiency of 93.12 J/TH. Each hashing board requires three PCIe connectors for 12 V DC input and all three must be connected to the same PSU. Operating temperature range is 0 to 40 °C and humidity 5 % to 95 % non-condensing. The dual-PSU arrangement removes the need for a 220 V circuit in regions where only 110 V is available.

Voltage and connector constraint

Rated input voltage per board is 11.60 to 13.00 V and every board needs its own three-connector feed from a single PSU. Mixing supplies on one board is not permitted. This wiring rule is the deciding factor when planning power distribution for the unit.
