The board draws all required power from the slot itself, so no extra cable from the PSU is needed.

Replaces an external hub or missing headers

Unlike a bus-powered external hub, the card provides dedicated bandwidth and up to 5.0 Gbps total throughput across the four ports. Each port can deliver 2 A, giving 8 A combined for high-draw devices. The step up is worthwhile when you regularly move large video or photo libraries and want consistent speeds without the drops common on daisy-chained hubs.

Sustained throughput with self-powered design
