Powered from the slot with per-port protection

Each port delivers up to 5 W at 5 V/1 A and draws all its power from the PCIe slot, so no external power cable is needed. Independent over-current and short-circuit protection on every port guards the host system if a connected device misbehaves. The card runs passively with no fan, adding no audible noise to the build. Total bandwidth is shared across the seven ports and limited by the PCIe 2.0 x1 link.
