Practical limits of the ATX interface

The ATX standard defines the physical dimensions, connector layout and voltage rails that the chassis and motherboard expect. A builder must ensure the case accepts an ATX-sized supply and that the motherboard provides the matching main and auxiliary power sockets. Systems needing a smaller SFX or TFX unit cannot use this supply. Builds demanding specialised server-grade connectors or redundant modules fall outside the ATX specification covered here.
