The Mean Well SP-320-15 is a new enclosed AC-DC unit rated for 300 W continuous output at 15 V and 20 A. It integrates active power factor correction for cleaner mains draw and meets European PFC requirements. The supply accepts a global input range and suits industrial equipment, test benches and fixed installations needing a single regulated rail.

Capacity and Headroom

The 300 W rating provides steady power for loads drawing up to 20 A at 15 V, with the PFC stage improving energy utilisation and reducing harmonic distortion. Headroom ends at the rated limit; sustained draws above 300 W or currents beyond 20 A will trigger protection or cause shutdown. It is not suited for multi-rail systems or variable-voltage applications.

Replacement Guidance

This unit replaces older non-PFC supplies of similar voltage and wattage where regulatory compliance or cleaner mains performance is now required. The jump is worthwhile when moving from a basic AT-type supply to one with built-in active PFC for European deployment.
