Z790 ATX for 12th and 13th Gen Intel

This motherboard uses the Intel Z790 chipset and an LGA 1700 socket to support 12th and 13th Gen Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. It is built for DDR5 memory in a standard ATX form factor and includes Wi-Fi 6E with 2.5 Gbps LAN for modern connectivity.

Installation notes and common issues

The board fits any ATX case and uses a 288-pin DDR5 layout with four slots. Check that the CPU 8-pin power cable is fully seated and that the M.2 screws match the standoffs for the four slots. Memory kits must be installed in the correct pair of slots for dual-channel operation and XMP 3.0 profiles need to be enabled in the BIOS.

DDR5 capacity and speed ceiling

The maximum supported memory is 192 GB across four slots. Overclocked speeds reach 7200+ MHz with one single-rank DIMM per channel, 6600+ MHz with one dual-rank DIMM per channel, 6400+ MHz with two single-rank DIMMs per channel and 5600+ MHz with two dual-rank DIMMs per channel.
