8GB DDR4 3200 ECC UDIMM for ASRock servers

Practical limits of DDR4 3200 ECC unbuffered

DDR4 3200 sets the maximum data rate at 3200 MT/s and the peak bandwidth at PC4-25600. Unbuffered ECC modules rely on the memory controller for command and address buffering, so total capacity per channel is limited by the board's trace layout and rank support. The CL22 timing and 1.2 V operation are fixed by the JEDEC standard for this speed grade; tighter latencies or higher voltages are not supported by this part. Builders who need registered DIMMs or higher frequencies must choose a different module.

Replaces non-ECC or lower-capacity DDR4 UDIMMs

This module replaces non-ECC DDR4 UDIMMs when data integrity is required, or adds a second 8 GB stick to populate an empty slot on a supported board. The upgrade is worthwhile when the workload demands error correction or when the system currently runs with a single rank per channel and the motherboard can utilise the additional rank. If the platform already uses registered memory or requires speeds above 3200 MT/s, this UDIMM will not meet those needs.
