64 GB DDR3L ECC RDIMM kit

This OWC kit provides 64 GB of DDR3L 1600 memory across four 16 GB registered DIMMs. It is built for Supermicro X9DAL, X9DAX, X9DB3, X9DBi and X9DBL motherboards in workstation, server or NAS roles. The modules run at 1.35 V with CL11 latency and include ECC error correction. They are not compatible with standard desktop platforms or unbuffered memory.

Replaces lower-capacity DDR3L RDIMMs

The upgrade replaces existing DDR3L registered modules when more capacity is needed for virtualisation, large databases or multi-user workloads. The jump is worth it when the board has four free 240-pin slots and the current memory limits the number of concurrent virtual machines or the size of in-memory datasets. It does not serve systems that require unbuffered DIMMs or a different DDR generation.

Check board model and slot population

Verify the motherboard is one of the listed Supermicro X9 series models before ordering. Confirm the system accepts 2Rx4 registered DIMMs at 1.35 V and that all four slots can be populated simultaneously. Ensure the platform does not mix registered and unbuffered modules, as this will prevent operation.
