Align the module key notch with the slot key, press straight down until both retention clips click. The common mistake is forcing an unbuffered DIMM into a registered slot or mixing registered and unbuffered modules, which prevents boot.
No routine maintenance is required. Replace the module only if memory diagnostics report correctable ECC errors that become uncorrectable, or if a DIMM fails POST testing after a firmware update.
