It targets builders who need both drive types without occupying extra motherboard headers. The card ships with a low-profile bracket, a screwdriver and mounting screws for immediate use.

Key constraint — PCIe x4 or wider slot required

The adapter only works in PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slots; it will not function in an x1 slot. An M-key NVMe SSD connects directly through the PCIe lane while a B-key SATA SSD needs the included 7-pin SATA cable linked to the motherboard to reach its 6.0 Gb/s transfer ceiling. Both slots accept 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 form factors.

Driver-free install; watch for SATA cable

Installation is tool-assisted with the supplied screwdriver and eight mounting holes that match every supported length. No extra power connector is needed. The most common issues are forgetting the SATA data cable for B-key drives or trying to seat the card in an x1 slot, which the specification explicitly forbids. If the OS shows an exclamation mark, the SSD vendor’s NVMe driver must be installed.
