Upgrade from Older Single-Socket Platforms

This system replaces earlier single-processor rack servers that max out at lower core counts, slower memory speeds or PCIe 4.0 storage. The jump is worth it when workloads demand 500W TDP CPU headroom, 504MB cache capacity or PCIe 5.0 bandwidth for NVMe drives. It also adds Silicon Root of Trust compliant with NIST 800-193 and cryptographically signed firmware for supply-chain security.

PCIe 5.0 and OCP 3.0 Constraints

Three PCIe 5.0 slots plus one PCIe 5.0 AIOM slot provide high-throughput expansion for accelerators, networking or storage controllers. The AIOM slot follows the OCP NIC 3.0 form factor for modular networking. Network connectivity beyond the dedicated 1 GbE BMC management port depends entirely on the card installed in the AIOM slot. Double-width add-in cards are supported within the 2U chassis limits.
