USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gbps Interface Limits

The USB 3.2 Gen 2 connection caps throughput at 10Gbps, so the fastest NVMe drives will not reach their internal PCIe speeds. UASP support reduces protocol overhead by roughly 20 percent versus older USB 3.0 links. The port is backward compatible with USB 3.1, 3.0 and 2.0 hosts, but each step down cuts maximum bandwidth further.

Tool-Free Install With Thermal Prep

Slide the 2230 SSD into the M-key or B+M-key slot, snap the magnetic cover shut and plug the USB-C cable — no screwdriver required. The kit includes a silicone thermal pad and an aluminum heat-spreader plate; fit both before closing the case or the SSD may throttle under sustained writes. SATA or NGFF drives will not work in this enclosure.
