The Dell PowerEdge R630 fits two Intel Xeon E5-2637 V3 processors and 128GB of DDR4 memory into a single rack unit. It targets workloads that need high core density and fast memory access in a compact footprint. The system ships without drives or an operating system.

Check Power Redundancy and Drive Bay Count

Verify that your rack can supply two 750W redundant power supplies and that you have up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug SAS or SATA drives ready. The H730 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 but no drives or trays are included. Confirm the iDRAC8 management level you require.

Integrates with PCIe 3.0 Expansion and 1GbE

No drives or trays are included. The chassis has up to 8 hot-plug bays for 2.5" SAS or SATA drives, so you must purchase those separately.

How much DDR4 memory is already installed and can it be expanded further?

128GB is installed across the 24 DIMM slots. The memory controller supports up to 1536GB total, so additional DDR4 modules up to 128GB each can be added.

What RAID levels can the PERC H730 controller handle with the installed drives?

The H730 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. The actual level you can use depends on how many SAS or SATA drives you install in the 8 bays.
