This new Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server fitted with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v3 processors. Each CPU runs at 2.6 GHz with a 3.3 GHz turbo and provides ten cores, giving twenty cores in total. The system includes 256 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight 32 GB modules and a PERC H730 storage controller with 1 GB cache.

The server targets midsize and large enterprises running virtual desktop infrastructure, databases, data warehousing or high-performance computing as a data node.
