The GIGYBYTE GC-4XM2G4 is a PCIe 4.0 x16 add-in card that adds four M-key M.2 slots for 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 SSDs. It includes a copper heatsink, thermal pads and a 5 cm double-ball bearing fan to cool both sides of installed drives. AORUS Storage Manager software enables RAID 0, 1 and 10 with a single click.

Fits x16 or x8 slots with a catch

Install the card in a PCIe x16 slot to use all four M.2 connectors at full speed. In a PCIe x8 slot only the first two M.2 slots function, so builders with limited lane availability lose half the capacity. The card requires active cooling clearance for the onboard fan and heatsink assembly.

PCIe 4.0 x16 host interface decides throughput

The card connects through a PCIe 4.0 x16 edge connector, delivering up to 15000 MB/s aggregate bandwidth with four Gen4 SSDs in RAID 0. If the motherboard supplies only PCIe 3.0 x16 or x8 electrical links, maximum throughput drops proportionally and RAID performance scales down.
