Storage interface limits

The P408 controller connects to the backplane through SAS lanes while the installed drive bays accept SATA media. This combination caps individual drive throughput at the SATA link speed rather than the faster SAS rate. Network I/O relies on two 10GbE and two 1GbE ports from the Intel I350/X540 adapter, so east-west traffic above 10GbE requires an additional card.

The server ships with dual 500W Flex Slot power supplies and rails available on request. Firmware and BIOS arrive pre-updated to the latest stable release after full burn-in testing.
