Socket and generation fit

This board uses the LGA 1151 socket on the Intel B360 chipset and accepts 8th and 9th Generation Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. It is not backward compatible with earlier LGA 1151 CPUs, so the processor choice is limited to those two generations.

Micro-ATX layout and common install issues

The Micro-ATX form factor fits standard mounting points, but only two DDR4 DIMM slots are provided, capping memory at 32 GB in dual-channel mode. The single M.2 Key M slot shares bandwidth with the first SATA port, so populating it with a SATA M.2 drive disables that SATA connector.

B360 chipset and interface limits

The B360 chipset links the single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot and two PCIe x1 slots directly to the CPU, while the M.2 slot runs at PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA 6 Gb/s. Six SATA 6 Gb/s ports are available unless the M.2 slot uses a SATA device, which reduces the count to five.
