Four dedicated USB 3.0 channels

The StarTech PEXUSB3S44V adds four external SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports through a PCI Express x4 slot. Each port runs on its own host controller chipset, delivering a dedicated 5 Gbps channel instead of sharing a single bus. Total available bandwidth reaches 20 Gbps across all four ports simultaneously.

UASP and charging support

The card implements the USB Attached SCSI Protocol, which can perform up to 70 percent faster than conventional USB 3.0 bulk-only transport when used with a UASP-capable enclosure and a compatible operating system. USB Battery Charging Specification 1.2 in Apple mode allows charging of compatible Apple devices directly from the ports.

LP4 and SATA power input

Two power connectors are provided on the board: a SATA power connector and an LP4 connector, giving flexibility to match the available cables inside the chassis. The low-profile bracket is included for installation in slim or small-form-factor cases. Builders who need internal USB headers or more than four ports will need a different solution.
