The Dell PowerEdge R730 is a 2U rack server built around a single Intel Xeon E5-2630v3 eight-core processor running at 2.4GHz. It ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory and two 300GB 15K SAS drives managed by a Perc H730 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750W redundant power supplies and a DVD ROM complete the baseline configuration.

Suits single-socket workloads.

This server suits environments that need a single-socket platform with hardware RAID and hot-plug 3.5-inch drive bays. It is not for workloads that require a second processor or more than 8GB of installed memory. Buyers who need greater internal storage capacity than two 300GB drives provide or who require 10GbE networking out of the box should look at other configurations.
