This 2U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon Gold 5317 processors, each running at 3.0 GHz with twelve cores and a 3.6 GHz turbo frequency. The 512 GB of DDR4 2933 MHz registered ECC memory occupies sixteen of the thirty-two available DIMM slots. A Dell PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache and battery backs RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across twenty-four 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drive trays. Dual 1400 W platinum power supplies, iDRAC9 Enterprise and an OCP 3.0 dual-port 10 GbE SFP+ card complete the configuration.

Virtualisation and database hosts needing dense 2U

Organisations running memory-heavy virtualisation clusters, large databases or analytics workloads will use the installed core count and half-populated memory channels. Buyers who want more storage than twenty-four 2.5-inch bays provide, or who require 3.5-inch drive support, should look at a different chassis. Teams needing GPU acceleration or NVMe-only backplanes will not find those interfaces in this build. The fixed two-processor maximum also rules out future socket upgrades beyond the current pair.

Sustained multi-threaded throughput

Under continuous load the dual 12-core CPUs maintain elevated frequencies while the redundant hot-swap power supplies share demand. The PERC H755 cache battery preserves write performance during extended write-heavy phases such as database checkpointing or log replay. iDRAC9 Enterprise provides persistent telemetry so thermal headroom and power draw can be tracked without interrupting the workload. The 2U form factor and included rails allow dense rack deployment where airflow is managed at row level.
