Memory capacity and headroom

The server includes 8GB of DDR4 memory across 16 DIMM slots, eight per processor socket. The installed processor supports memory speeds up to 2400MT/s, while the platform can scale to 1TB when both sockets are populated with 64GB modules. With only one processor fitted, usable slots are limited to eight and maximum capacity is lower. Workloads that demand large in-memory datasets will require additional processors and memory modules.

Storage controller and drives

The HP Smart HBA H240 provides 12Gb SAS and 6Gb SATA connectivity with hardware RAID 0, 1, and 5. Two 600GB 15K 2.5-inch SAS drives are installed in the eight-bay SFF chassis, leaving six bays free for expansion. The controller does not support RAID 6 or 10, so arrays needing dual-parity or striped mirrors require a different controller. No operating system is included, so storage provisioning and RAID configuration are left to the administrator.
