The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 Gen 2 is a new 14.0 inch business laptop built around an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with four cores and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.2 GHz. It ships with 24GB of DDR4 memory and a 4TB PCIe SSD, providing ample capacity for large local datasets and virtual machines. The 1920 x 1080 IPS display and 720p webcam support daily video collaboration. Dual-boot Windows 10 Pro and Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon let users select either operating system at startup.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 50WHr battery and 65W power supply deliver energy for typical office tasks, while the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics share system memory for light creative work. Under continuous multi-core load the processor can reach its 4.2 GHz peak, but thermal limits in the 0.70 inch chassis will gradually reduce clocks to protect components. The DDR4 memory runs at standard JEDEC speeds, so bandwidth scales linearly with the 24GB capacity. Fan noise increases noticeably during extended compiles or data processing.

Interface practical limits

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide 40 Gbps signalling for external GPUs, high-speed storage or dual 4K displays, though total bandwidth is shared with the PCIe x4 link from the CPU. The HDMI port and single Thunderbolt port can drive two external monitors simultaneously. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 handle wireless peripherals, while the 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet jack caps wired throughput at 1 Gbps. Two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a micro SD reader complete the I/O set.
