2.5-inch SATA Enclosure for Single Drive

The Orico enclosure accepts one 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or solid-state drive and connects it to a host through a USB 3.0 port. It is built for users who want to turn an internal drive into portable external storage without tools or an extra power adapter. The plastic housing includes internal EVA foam to cushion the drive during transport.

USB 3.0 Interface Limits

The USB 3.0 link caps real-world throughput below the SATA 6 Gbps ceiling, so sustained reads and writes will not reach the drive's native maximum. UASP and TRIM support reduce protocol overhead and help maintain SSD performance, but the bus remains the bottleneck for large sequential transfers. The enclosure also enters sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity to save power.

Up to 6 TB Capacity Headroom

The case supports drives up to 6 TB, giving ample room for backups, media libraries or project archives. A single 2.5-inch drive fits in the sole bay, so total capacity is limited to the largest drive you install. Users needing more than 6 TB or multiple drives simultaneously will require a different solution.
