This 32GB OWC module is a registered DDR5 DIMM with ECC and a 2Rx8 organisation. It runs at 4800 MT/s (PC5-38400) with CL40 latency at 1.1 V. The part is validated for Lenovo ThinkSystem SR675 V3, SR850 V3, SR860 V3 and ST650 V3 servers and workstations. It is not compatible with standard desktop platforms or with unbuffered or load-reduced memory types.

Sustained-load behaviour

ECC correction and the registered buffer keep data integrity intact during continuous, multi-threaded workloads typical of virtualisation hosts and database servers. The single-rank-per-channel 2Rx8 layout helps maintain stable throughput across all populated slots without the timing penalties that mixed-rank configurations can introduce. JEDEC-compliant operation at 1.1 V limits thermal output during extended duty cycles.

Installation notes

The 288-pin RDIMM installs like any server DIMM: align the key notch, press until the ejectors latch, and verify population order in the system service guide. Common issues arise when mixing this registered ECC module with unbuffered or LRDIMM parts, which the platform will reject at POST. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow across the module must follow the chassis design. Buyers needing capacities beyond a single 32GB DIMM should plan for additional identical modules.
