UPS HAT for Raspberry Pi Pico
The LORDWORLD UPS HAT adds uninterruptible power to Raspberry Pi Pico series boards through a standard header. It integrates a Li-ion battery switching charger with dynamic power path management to maintain a stable 5 V supply during mains loss. The board is designed for makers and IoT developers who need continuous operation without manual intervention.
I2C monitoring and protection circuits
Real-time battery voltage, current, power and remaining capacity are reported over the I2C bus for software-level awareness. Multiple hardware safeguards provide over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection alongside an equalising charge function. Onboard LEDs indicate charging status, power presence and battery connection health.
Li-ion chemistry and header constraints
The module only supports single-cell Li-ion batteries and relies on the Pico header for mechanical and electrical connection. It cannot power loads that exceed the Pico header current rating or the charger’s output capability. Developers needing hot-swap redundancy, higher voltages or non-Li-ion chemistries must look elsewhere.

Pitanja o ovom artiklu
Does the Li-ion battery on this UPS HAT need periodic replacement, and how is it charged?
The board includes a switching charger with dynamic power path management that charges a connected Li-ion cell over the I2C bus; the cell itself is not supplied, so you choose the capacity and replace it when its runtime drops below your needs.
What limits continuous operation when the Raspberry Pi Pico draws sustained current through the HAT?
The multi protection circuits enforce over-current, over-charge, over-discharge and short-circuit thresholds; the first limit reached will cut power to protect the battery and the Pico.
How much noise or heat does the HAT generate when it runs all day powering a Pico?
The module has no fan or moving parts, so it is silent; only the onboard charger and protection MOSFETs warm slightly under load, and the three status LEDs give visual feedback without adding audible noise.
