The LORDWORLD UPS HAT adds uninterruptible power to Raspberry Pi Pico series boards through a standard header. It integrates a Li-ion battery switching charger with dynamic power path management to maintain a stable 5 V supply during mains loss. The board is designed for makers and IoT developers who need continuous operation without manual intervention.

I2C monitoring and protection circuits

Real-time battery voltage, current, power and remaining capacity are reported over the I2C bus for software-level awareness. Multiple hardware safeguards provide over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection alongside an equalising charge function. Onboard LEDs indicate charging status, power presence and battery connection health.

Li-ion chemistry and header constraints

The module only supports single-cell Li-ion batteries and relies on the Pico header for mechanical and electrical connection. It cannot power loads that exceed the Pico header current rating or the charger’s output capability.
