This server suits workloads that need up to 36 total cores across two sockets and up to 3 TB of DDR4 across 24 DIMM slots. The four LFF drive bays accept 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drives for bulk storage. Buyers who want the full 3 TB memory ceiling should plan to add a second processor and populate the remaining slots. The Matrox G200 graphics with 16 MB video memory is for management only and does not support GPU compute or display workloads.

Four LFF bays with H240ar RAID controller

Storage capacity is determined by the four large-form-factor bays and the Smart HBA H240ar controller. The controller handles 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA drives with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. No drives are installed, so you must supply your own 3.5-inch media. The embedded 1 Gb Ethernet 4-port 331i adapter handles network connectivity.
