Server ECC LRDIMM kit

This OWC kit supplies 256GB of DDR4 server memory across four 64GB load-reduced DIMMs. It targets administrators upgrading workstations, servers or NAS systems that require registered ECC modules. The kit is not compatible with standard desktop platforms or unbuffered memory configurations. Each module operates at 1.2V and meets JEDEC PC4-25600 specifications.

288-pin registered design

The 288-pin LRDIMM form factor fits server DIMM slots and presents a reduced electrical load to the memory controller. ECC circuitry detects and corrects single-bit errors to protect data integrity in multi-socket or high-capacity deployments. Four-rank 4Rx4 organisation allows dense population without exceeding rank limits on supported platforms. No heat spreaders are fitted, so airflow must follow chassis guidelines.

Backward-compatible speed range

Modules run at 3200MHz CL22 and automatically down-clock to 2933MHz, 2666MHz, 2400MHz or 2133MHz when installed in slower systems. The upgrade suits operators extending the life of older DDR4 infrastructure or building new servers within budget. It replaces lower-capacity registered kits where 64GB per slot is required. Desktop builders needing unbuffered memory should look elsewhere.
