The Dell PowerEdge R360 is a 1U rack server built around an Intel Pentium G7400 processor running at 3.7 GHz with two cores and four threads. It ships with 128 GB of 5600 MT/s DDR5 ECC UDIMM memory across four 32 GB modules. A single 600 GB SAS hot-plug drive occupies one of four 3.5-inch bays behind a front PERC H355 controller. The system includes a single 600 W non-redundant power supply and two NEMA 5-15P cords for North American power.

Sustained Load Behaviour

The 46 W Pentium G7400 operates without Turbo Boost, so its 3.7 GHz clock remains constant during extended workloads. Performance Optimised memory mode keeps all four channels active for steady throughput. A single heatsink and the standard 3.5-inch chassis fan set handle the thermal load; no additional fan is fitted. The 600 W supply delivers continuous power without redundancy, limiting headroom for further drive or PCIe expansion.

SAS 12 Gbps Interface Limits

The installed 600 GB drive uses a 12 Gbps SAS link with 512n formatting and 10 000 RPM spindle speed. The front PERC H355 controller supports mixed drive types in the remaining three bays but arrives in an unconfigured RAID state (C7). No PCIe riser is present, so the SAS backplane and onboard controller represent the only storage connectivity. Builders needing more than four drives or a second controller must choose a different chassis.
