The Dell EMC PowerEdge R740 occupies 2U of rack space and delivers dual Intel Gold 6126 processors with twelve cores each at 2.6 GHz. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4 memory are installed as two 16 GB modules. Two 1.2 TB 10K SAS drives connect through an H730P controller. The chassis provides eight 2.5-inch drive bays and up to eight PCIe Gen 3 slots.
